VIVIAN ADELBERG RUDOW is a sound portrait painter whose music often portrays an aspect about life or an emotion. Composing music "for the people" while maintaining artistic integrity, Rudow's works receive enthusiastic responses from audiences.

Equally comfortable with live acoustic and electronic sounds, Adelberg Rudow's music ranges from solo tape, to full live orchestra in styles of music needed for the expression, ranging from completely tonal to abstract.

MM Peabody Conservatory of Music of Johns Hopkins University 1979, Vivian Adelberg Rudow, won First Prize in the 1986 14th International Electroacoustic Music Competition, Bourges, program division, for WITH LOVE, a fantasy for live cello & decorated cello cases, (prepared tape). It received straight 10's.

Vivian Adelberg Rudow recently received notice of her 18th ASCAP award.

So far in 2004, Vivian Adelberg Rudow’s music CUBAN LAWYER, JUAN BLANCO, on CD "Electroacoustic Music Vol. IX"/Electroshock" Artemiy Artemiev producer, Russia, has been performed on Radio 28 times among the countries Australia, Austria, Canada, Chile, Great Britain, Macedonia, Russia, Spain, The Netherlands, USA.

Other 2004 radio performances include Adelberg Rudow’s LAMENT, USA and WITH LOVE, Russia.

She recently received an ASCAP notice that Israeli radio performed her music Cuban Lawyer, Lament, Lavender, Rebecca’s Song, Weeping Rocker, and With Love during the 2002-2003 concert season.

During the 2002/03/04 concert seasons Adelberg Rudow’s RACING INSIDE THE MILKYWAY, on the CD "Electroacoustic Music. Vol. VIII"/Electroshock, Artemiy Artemiev producer, Russia, was performed on the radio 12 times among the countries Australia, USA, Spain, Romania, Switzerland, and Belgium.

Frances Richard, director of ASCAP's symphony & concerts departments spoke about Rudow in The Baltimore Sunday Sun, August 14, 1994, saying, "She has created a catalog of work we applaud."

First Prize recipient in the International Double Reed Society Composition Contest, solo division in 1977, for KADDISH solo bassoon, Rudow's FORCE III was the first orchestral work by a Maryland composer performed in the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, December, 1982, Sergiu Comissiona conducting.

She wrote an article to be published soon, "Music Management "for WOMEN AND MUSIC IN AMERICA SINCE 1900: AN ENCYCLOPEDIA, and an article published on the WOW'EM internet composer site for young people, "How do I use the computer as a creative process" .

Rudow is developing a New art form for dissemination of sound by conducting music on 4 CD players LIVE on stage via two small hand held remote controllers. Rudow founded, & is artistic producer/director/conductor of Res MusicAmerica, Inc., an organization of high quality performers that presented 283 music works mainly by American living composers in concerts that delighted their full house audiences, plus 26 symposia and 22 youth concerts from 1980-91, produced in 1988, an International Electroacoustic Music Festival during which composers from 14 different countries attended.

Rudow's music has been performed in Asia, Canada, Cuba, Eastern Europe, France, Holland, Puerto Rico, Spain, South Africa & the United States.

WITH LOVE is on an honors compact disc from France CULTURES ELECTRONIQUES 3 LDC 278046/47 on the LE CHANT DU MONDE, Harmonia Mundi Label, with the winners of the 16th annual award winners, 1988. It is also available from the composer.
